For many people, their homes are the type that seem
perfectly fine, but the bane of many people’s existence is mold. Mold can make
your faux brick panels look awful, and they can heavily damage the place in
ways you wouldn’t want it to be damaged.
Now, there are ways to prevent this, and there are surefire ways to get
rid of mold so you can put everything from faux brick panels to even new
bathroom hardware into a place, and you’ll be able to use this without any
problems later on.
The first, is to get the drainage figured out. For many people, this happened when they step
into a shower or bath and there is stagnant water. You need to make sure that your drain is
doing the right thing, but before you put the blame there, check was well to
see if water is also pooling anywhere else, which might mean that it’s not
slanted. You’ll also want to make sure
that there aren’t any hair or other objects inside the drain too, because it’ll
clog it. If all else fails, you can try
a square drain to help with that.
Then there is installing a fan. Now you can hide this with some faux brick panels,
but you’ll want this to help prevent the mold from growing. Fans also get rid of the extra moisture, and
not only that, it can stagnate growth immediately. These are great if you don’t know where to
fully put the blame, and how you can use this to help benefit your home.
Then there is the protection of walls from water. If that is the case, you need to make sure
that you do waterproof your walls, because it’s definitely a problem when mold
shows up. The water will absorb, and its
part of how you will get mold on the bathroom. Make sure that you have the
right primer on there, and you ensure that it’s with the right number of
coats. Doing this at the start is
definitely helpful in making a place water-resistant.
Finally, get rid of the mold the second you see it. This is important,
because the faster you take care of it, the more likely it is to go away. You
can typically get some mold cleaner at your average home improvement store, or even
the grocery store, or if you’re strapped for cash, mix in some bleach with
water, spray it, and then wipe away with cleaner. Handling this now can help you immensely
later on when things go sour.
